There are a great number of things people want to do at some point in their lives, though some are more popular than others. With the Hollywood film ‘The Bucket List’ (referencing the list of things to do before you kick the proverbial bucket), this idea was opened up to a wealth of people who may not have considered it before, or at least had not gone as far as to draft up their own lists.
Now, millions around the world have a checklist of things they want to see and do before it’s too late, with many popping up on more than one occasion.
See the Northern Lights
You don’t need to be a scientist to appreciate the splendour of the Northern Lights. Whether the aim is to see first hand the spectral shapes caused by the phenomenon or just see it ‘in the flesh’ – as opposed to in books and magazines – many people want to see the Northern Lights at some point in their lives.
Swim with dolphins
The most well-known (and arguably one of the most well-documented) of all the major life ambitions is to swim with dolphins. Very many thousands of people travel across the world to be able to swim with the notoriously docile creatures; a desire promoted further by regularly published footage of the mammals nuzzling humans and performing tricks for those who visit.
Skydive
A more white-knuckle addition to the bucket list, jumping out of an aeroplane to freefall to earth provides a huge draw and people all over the world take to the skies every day in order to experience one of the biggest thrill rides known to man. With everyone from children to OAPs strapping in for a skydive, there really is no excuse to not have a go yourself.
There are, of course, a great many things that people want to do at one time in their lives, from the sublime to the ridiculous. However, these are some of the most popular and the ones that people from all over the world will travel for hundreds of miles to be able to experience themselves.
